name: Claire Alexandra Eason
Senior at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN.
I'm wearing more and more hats as I get older. I am currently a portratier, painter, drawer, photographer, sculptor, and student of Art and the French language at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
Drawing has been a part of my life since I knew what a pencil was. I have lived in six states in my life, and they have all left their mark on me. But, I grew up and spent the most time in New Orleans. Surrounded by the French influence, overflowing Sweet Olive, and endless Mardi Gras beads, my love of bold colors brings me back to the bright masks and costumes I fell in love with as a young girl.
Initially in school for Architecture, I missed being free. So I began painting in the Fall of 2014. Captivated by the fluid motions and rich history of painting, I immediately brought my architectural background into the process as I mapped out images onto my canvases. Something about using the structural design process in painting felt exciting to me - like I was breaking the rules. Truly then I felt right at home :)
All things have brought me to this point in my life. Five years have gone by since my Freshman self thought I had it figured out. HAHA I *audibly* laugh.
Now, with less than two months until my college graduation, on my 23rd birthday, I stare at a wide open blank canvas.
What oh what will I paint on it?
The next chapter, of course.
I do commissions, portraits, and custom paintings by any stretch of your imagination.
